Litoměřice - the Garden of Bohemia

The region got the name the Garden of Bohemia in the 17 th century. There on confluence of the river Labe and Ohře, in pictorial areas of České středohoří. There is one of the most beautiful Czech town, the royal town Litoměřice, where at the present time lives about 26 000 inhabitants. Historical glory of royal Litoměřice remind you Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings.

Out of the 256 buildings, 104 of them are listed as cultural monuments in the national register, and you wil find almost all of them in the historic core of the town, which is surrounded in large part by the preserved Gothic fortifications. In Litoměřice you can visit many churches, several galleries and more.There lived our famous poet Karel Hynek Mácha.
