The Chapel of St. John the Baptist

Adress: Máchova ulice

This is first mentioned as a Gothic church in 1384. Council records show an application made by Bishop Jaroslav František of Šternberk for the site left by the chapel of St. John on Dubina. The following year saw the construction of the church of St. John the Baptist that we find here today, apparently built by Giulio Broggio and which bears the name of the saint over the entrance. Repairs were then carried out in 1910, 1955 and 1998. Above the entrance is the emblem of the then Bishop of Litom??ice, Jaroslav František from Šternberk. Inside the chapel is a Renaissance tombstone from the year 1573. The original sculptures from the plague column are stored in the chapel.
