All Saints Church
Adress: Mírové nám?stí
This church was first mentioned in 1235. The oldest masonry work in Litom??ice is to be found here. Before the mid 14th century it was part of the town fortifications. The 54 metre-high Gothic tower also dates from this time. In a room on the ground floor, also accessible from the church, there used to be a large wooden chest in which the townspeople would hide their valuables in times of trouble. The chest is now part of the exhibition at the Severo?eské galerie výtvarných um?ní (Northern Bohemia Gallery of Creative Arts). The church's remarkable pyramid roof is from 1570, constructed under Valentin Schneider. The church was altered in the Baroque style in 1718-19 by Octavio Broggio, whose son Antonio built the main altar. There was a cemetery around the church until 1790. Buried in the church there are, amongst others, the builders Giulio and Octavio Broggio.
